New Attraction: Suspension Bridge Hot Springs – A One-Day Tour of Taoyuan’s Top Five Play Spots

Taoyuan’s new attractions, the “Xinxikou Suspension Bridge” and the “Lofu Atayal Hot Springs Park,” were both launched in January. The suspension bridge spans an impressive 303 meters, making it the longest cable-stayed bridge in Taiwan. The Lofu Hot Springs Food Carnival features foot soaking pools as its highlight, combined with Atayal indigenous cultural elements, creating the Lofu Hot Springs Street. The following itinerary connects the Lofu and Fuxing areas with the Little Wulai Waterfall Scenic Area, compiling five attractions to offer travelers new choices.

1. Xinxikou Suspension Bridge
The Xinxikou Suspension Bridge took over three years of planning, reconstruction, and renovation. With a total length of 303 meters, it has become the longest cable-stayed bridge in Taiwan. The original Xikou Suspension Bridge was demolished in 2015 due to aging infrastructure, and the new bridge now links Jiaobanshan with the Xikou Plateau, spanning the Dahan River.

Free Admission: Residents registered in Fuxing District, children under 6 years old, seniors aged 65 and above, individuals with disabilities holding a disability card and one accompanying person, as well as personnel on official business or conducting official duties.

2. Lofu Atayal Story Park

The Lofu area in Fuxing successfully drilled its first hot spring well and has set up three foot soaking pools in the Atayal Story Park, offering visitors a cozy new option for winter outings to enjoy warm hot spring foot baths. In addition, the Lofu Hot Springs Food Carnival will be held at the Story Park on January 13th. The event will feature performances by the Original Forest Art Dance Troupe and tribal indie singers, along with indigenous food stalls around the venue and DIY experiences such as jewelry crafting that showcase indigenous culture.

3. Jiaobanshan Guesthouse

The Jiaobanshan Guesthouse complex in Taoyuan covers approximately 3 hectares and is home to more than 200 plum trees, making it one of the largest plum gardens in northern Taiwan. During the plum blossom season, the Taoyuan City Tourism Bureau also hosts a series of Plum Blossom Festival events in the Jiaobanshan area, allowing visitors to not only admire the beautiful blossoms but also enjoy a fun and memorable experience.

4. Little Wulai Skywalk

The Little Wulai Skywalk, built with an investment of NT$8 million, was once voted by visitors as the most romantic spot in Taiwan. Its design is minimalist, featuring geometric lines and a structure with reinforced glass flooring. The 11-meter-long elevated walkway extends out from a height of 70 meters above the waterfall base. Standing on the glass platform offers breathtaking views of the picturesque Little Wulai Valley and the majestic waterfall, providing a thrilling 360-degree visual experience.
