Not just the most beautiful eastern coastline at Duoliang — 68 hotspots for train-chasing photography

In recent years, Taiwan Railways has launched a variety of colorful special trains, which serve as beautiful moving landscapes and have become popular subjects for photographers and railway enthusiasts, adding new vibrancy to TRA tourism. The railway authority has also recently conducted a preliminary survey, compiling 68 safe locations where trains can be photographed, with major hotspots mainly distributed along the eastern line. These have been announced on the official website recently.

In addition, Taiwan Railways has recently collaborated with the Tourism Bureau of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications to launch the “Oh Bear Ride Call Train,” creating a new highlight for the Puyuma series. “Group Leader Oh Bear” made its debut on a TRA Puyuma train this year, following its appearances on Taipei Metro’s painted train and TRA local trains. The interior of the train is decorated in vibrant colors to create a cheerful atmosphere, aligning with four promotional themes: “Extreme Point Slow Travel,” “Welcome to Be a Blogger,” “Penghu Chrysanthemum Island Cross-Sea Marathon,” and “Taiwan’s Hot Springs — Hot Spring Food Carnival,” offering passengers different visual and tourism activity information.

Taiwan Railways has a total of 229 stations and over 1,100 kilometers of track. Each station, section of track, and bridge has its own unique charm. The main 68 train-chasing photography hotspots are located along the eastern line, including Duoliang Station, Taimali Sakuragi Level Crossing, Shanli Tunnel North Entrance, and Shincheng Station’s South Shouchen Bridge.
