The National Day fireworks display is a key event to celebrate Double Ten National Day, but it has been canceled multiple times in recent years due to natural disasters and major accidents. This year, the fireworks returned and were launched in Taitung County for the first time, with this grand event also helping to boost tourism and create business opportunities in Taitung following last year’s typhoon disaster. The display took place from 7:00 PM to 7:36 PM on October 10, lasting a total of 36 minutes, and was held on the southern embankment at the mouth of the Beinan River.

This year’s National Day fireworks were divided into six major themes: Original, Wings, Perseverance, Harmony, Peace, and Nation. A total of 22,000 fireworks were launched, with each theme accompanied by music for six minutes. The fireworks came in six sizes: 3T, 6T, 8T, 10T, 12T, and 24T, with launch heights ranging from 60 meters to 600 meters. Additionally, 24T high-altitude fireworks were launched for the first time in Taiwan.

In addition, Taitung County Government launched the “Double Ten Fireworks & Hot Air Balloon Project,” hosting the “Hot Air Balloon Fireworks Carnival” on October 10 and 11 at Taitung Forest Park. Those who stay at a licensed accommodation for two nights or more during the specified National Day holiday period may have the chance to experience a free tethered hot air balloon ride.
