Taipei’s Chifeng Street was once an ironworking district over half a century ago, lined with blacksmith shops, auto parts stores, hardware businesses, and more, exuding a strong industrial atmosphere. The Floating Light Bookstore is located on the upper floor of a 70-year-old building. Unlike the bustling opulence of Dadaocheng, the architecture retains its original character. The shop is designed as a bookstore space featuring Western literature, philosophy, photography art books, and hand-brewed coffee. Walking up the vintage wrought-iron door on the first floor, you’re immediately enveloped by a rich literary atmosphere.

The interior has removed all partition walls and the ceiling, creating a long, naturally lit area where shifting light and shadows throughout the day foster a unique philosophical ambiance. The coffee bar is crafted from original aged wood and paired with industrial-style metal elements, blending modern style with the soul of the old building.
