The “Central Taiwan Film Center” is a key venue for major film and television events in Central Taiwan, hosting events such as the “Taichung International Animation Festival,” movie premieres, special screenings, and themed film exhibitions. In addition, to enhance the richness and diversity of digital content, the Taichung City Government has collaborated with the Ministry of Culture to incorporate ACG (Animation, Comics, and Games) industry elements. Through this initiative, ACG and film/television cultural content are integrated to elevate overall industry competitiveness and offer citizens and international comics enthusiasts a more diverse range of visual experiences.

The Taichung City Government Information Office has planned and promoted the “Central Taiwan Film Promotion Park” project, which consists of two parts: the “Central Taiwan Film and Television Base” located in Wufeng District, which offers shooting and production functions, and the “Central Taiwan Film Center” located in the Shuinan Smart City, which provides functions for archiving, screenings, performances, and leisure. The National Comics Museum will be situated in the latter. These two important cultural and entertainment industry-related constructions will be integrated in the future to connect the upstream and downstream segments of the film and television industry chain, and will also serve as tourist attractions. The Central Taiwan Film Center is scheduled for completion by the end of 2018.
