Japan’s Open-Air Ice Onsen Open for Only 60 Days a Year

Every autumn and winter, Hong Kong people especially love going on a hot spring trip, andJapanOne of the new options in recent years is located by this lake where there are two hotels, and many guests come especially for the “Ice Village.”

Here you’ll find an open-air ice onsen. The entire bath is built from ice bricks, and specially designed pipes channel the hot spring water from Lake Ranputo into the bath. However, since the changing room has no heating, users must undress and get in very quickly, otherwise they might easily catch a cold. But soaking in the hot spring while gazing at the snowy scenery is truly a blissful experience.

The village isn’t just home to the ice onsen — there’s also an ice bar here too. This two-story bar serves drinks in glasses carved entirely out of ice. If you’re traveling with a group of friends, you can even book a private room. This unique experience is something you have to try at least once in your life.
