Films directed by Woody Allen are always filled with a strong sense of retro charm. The setting of "Love Carousel" (Wonder Wheel) is Coney Island, New York in the 1950s. It portrays the amusement park scene from director Woody Allen's childhood memories—featuring carousels, shooting games, rides, and a giant Ferris wheel—as well as the famous beach scenes of Coney Island. In the film, the male lead, Justin Timberlake, plays a lifeguard on the beach.

Coney Island (Coney Island) has been home to the first carousel on the island as early as 1876.
