2017 marked the first year of the "LucFest – The Noble Walk Music Festival." Jointly presented by White Wabbit Records, 9-Kick, and the Tainan City Government Tourism Bureau, the "2017 Tainan City Music Festival" combined both indoor and outdoor performances. While scheduling shows, the festival also considered the routes taken by audiences, domestic and international industry professionals, and performing bands as part of the program—turning the entire city of Tainan into the stage for both the 2017 Tainan City Music Festival and LucFest – The Noble Walk Music Festival.

Unlike large-scale outdoor music festivals that build fan pilgrimages around "big-name headliners, massive venues, and huge crowds," showcase festivals focus more on industry connections, information exchange, and resource sharing. The greatest joy and value in attending a showcase lies in "discovering" new and great music together with discerning selectors, curators, and industry insiders.
In addition to inviting festival selectors, labels, and media from around the world to participate in various forums and lectures in Tainan, "LucFest – The Noble Walk Music Festival" also adopts a selector system, inviting selectors to plan performance sets featuring three bands each. This allows music fans not only to discover great music but also to gain deeper insight into the evolution and pulse of Taiwan’s independent music scene through the perspectives of the selectors.

The first wave of performing bands includes Sad But Not Afraid, Deerhi ∞ Veda, 55, Eighty-Eight Balaz, Mary Bite Kelly, Fragile Girls, Drift Out, Leighton Dog, Lakuca Steppe WWWW, Inspirative, Phum Viphurit, and more, to be announced successively on the Tainan City Music Festival official website.
Come to Tainan together and share your hidden gems: a fantastic performance, a cup of tea, or a bowl of delicious savory porridge can all be the starting point for meaningful connections. Stroll through Tainan’s streets and alleys, meet new friends, and become a patron of Taiwanese music.
