A magnificent wooden sculpture steals the spotlight — new highlight at the Driftwood Art Festival

Installations have become must-visit spots for young people to take photos and check in, and recently a grand wooden sculpture resembling an ivory tower has appeared in the Taoyuan area, captivating visitors who can't help but stop to admire and take pictures. The first Taoyuan International Driftwood Art Festival was held in 2017 at Taoyuan Fenghe Park, where the Taoyuan City Government invited a total of eight artist groups from both domestic and international backgrounds to participate. Using driftwood found on-site, they created artworks, establishing a museum without walls in the urban area.

The driftwood art festival focuses primarily on improvised creation and on-site exhibitions, actively utilizing driftwood that comes from forests and travels with the water to create installations that engage in dialogue with nature. The exhibition not only explores and uncovers these natural resources but also showcases their artistic energy. Through the establishment of this art platform, it opens up new opportunities for shaping local urban aesthetics and regional artistic characteristics.
