Bear Chanzan and Jiang Hongjie promote Taiwan's Taipei city tourism through the documentary "Inside Taipei 2017 Universiade"

Premier Lai Ching-te praised the Universiade for uniting the emotions and attention of the Taiwanese people, and humorously complimented Mayor Ko Wen-je for his foresight in deciding to produce the documentary despite initial skepticism. Taipei Mayor Ko Wen-je stated that this was a great shared experience for all of Taiwan and Taipei, and even now, seeing footage of the sporting events still deeply moves him.

During the Universiade, the Taipei City Tourism and Travel Bureau promoted the concept of creating a new tourism axis in the old city, vigorously boosting the area’s appeal. Now, with the release of "Inside: 2017 Taipei Universiade," the documentary fully captures memorable and touching moments such as the athletes’ village, the opening and closing ceremonies, the training camp, competition highlights, award ceremonies, and rehearsals.

The interactions between athletes, coaches, and their families were also captured in close-up interviews, including the home life of Jiang Hongjie and Ai Fukuhara, and how Chen Chin-feng could ignite the Olympic flame with a single swing—key moments of interest to audiences and fans—all featured in the film.

The film also showcases the diverse facets of Taipei’s transformation, including the city’s historic districts, cultural showcases, and the friendliness and inclusiveness of its citizens—vibrant images of modern Taipei. Following the success of "Inside: Revitalization of Taipei’s Old City," which won the Special Jury Prize for Cultural and Historical Programming at the 2017 Houston International Film Festival, this moving documentary further reveals the warmth, passion, and charm of Taipei and Taiwan.
