Chef André Chiang Combines Gastronomy and Art Across Borders as RAW Transforms into a Modern Art Gallery

During the unveiling, in addition to appearances by the artists behind the exhibited works and their supporting galleries, André Chiang also shared how joyful it is to do what he loves most—referring to wood carving and pottery. The piece “Re-Birth,” unveiled at this event, is his first publicly displayed wood sculpture as an artist. Works by other Taiwanese artists, including Wu Tung-lung, Hsu Yung-hsu, and Sa Can-ju, were also on display at the exhibition.

Additionally, works by five emerging artists guided by Juan Carlo Calma offered reflections on urban life, touching on various themes such as home, dining, culture, and continuous motion. These pieces made the “FOOD EXHIBITION & ART TASTING 食 '艺 '无 '界” event even more captivating, brimming with new energy and inspiration.

This gastronomic and artistic showcase featuring two cities, nine artists, four chefs, and twelve dishes also marked André Chiang’s return to his roots. Back in Taiwan, he expressed the joy of “rebirth” and rediscovery of his artistic path. The twelve dishes jointly created by RAW and Gallery VASK not only delighted diners’ palates but also provided new creative insights and inspiration through each unique piece of art.
