Exclusive discount for Kaohsiung residents only: Free entry to “Taiwan’s West Lake” with proof of ID – valid until 2019

Kaohsiung residents are in luck. The Kaohsiung City Government Tourism Bureau has announced that from now until September 2019, residents can enter the Chengcing Lake Waterworks Sightseeing Area for free by presenting their ID card.

The Chengcing Lake Scenic Area boasts beautiful lakeside scenery and is often referred to as “Taiwan’s West Lake.” The Kaohsiung Tourism Bureau stated that since opening free entry to Kaohsiung residents in 2013, visitor numbers have increased by 40%, reaching approximately 5 million visitors by the end of December 2016.

To attract more local residents to visit Chengcing Lake, this measure will continue until September 17, 2019. In addition to enjoying the outdoors, couples planning to get married can also choose to take wedding photos at the scenic area’s popular photo spot, “Garden of Happiness,” creating lasting memories.
