Nabana no Sato is not just about flowers—Japan’s largest light sea night view is even more spectacular!

Known as Japan’s largest winter light festival, the Nabana no Sato Winter Illumination in Nagashima, Mie Prefecture, kicked off on October 14, 2017, and runs until May 6, 2018. This year’s theme features Kumamon as the main character, taking visitors on a tour of various parts of Kumamoto. Nabana no Sato is a large outdoor park themed around seasonal floral landscapes and is known for having Japan’s largest “Flower Square.” A wide variety of flowers bloom here throughout the year. During the winter illumination period, the beauty of nature is also interpreted through various light displays.

The most iconic attraction of the Nabana no Sato light show is the 200-meter-long “Flower Corridor,” a spectacular tunnel of lights made up of 1.2 million petal-shaped bulbs. In addition, there’s also the 100-meter-long “h\ ～Sakura～” cherry blossom light tunnel, thematic light sculptures, the Sea of Clouds of Light, and the River of Light—must-see beautiful sights.
