Asia’s Largest Outdoor Spiral Slide in Taiwan – A Must-Visit New Attraction

Slides are no longer just for kids. With the introduction of large indoor slides in cities like Taichung and Kaohsiung, their thrilling levels have even attracted adults. Now, Taipei’s urban area welcomes Asia’s tallest outdoor spiral slide. The leading department store in Xinyi District has built an outdoor spiral slide, standing 16 meters high—about four stories—and began its trial operation on the 17th, drawing crowds of tourists and pedestrians for photos even before its official opening.

Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Taipei Xinyi New Life has undergone renovations in recent years. In addition to interior upgrades, A8 Building now features Asia’s tallest outdoor spiral slide, “Weeeeee ! Slide,” stretching over 60 meters. Its transparent design heightens the sensory thrill, and LED lighting adds a nighttime glow. It officially opens on December 22, becoming a new hot topic and experiential attraction in Xinyi District.

In addition, as Christmas approaches, department stores annually roll out exciting installations. This year, Shin Kong Mitsukoshi has collaborated with the beloved gashapon franchise “Hudo Planet.” Three polar animal designs—the polar bear, reindeer, and king penguin—from the third series of “Hudo Planet” have been selected and enlarged into super-cute 150-centimeter-tall figures. The oversized “chins” of these “Hudo” characters are attracting fans for photo ops.
