This "Buongiorno Ciao Brunch" has always been on Xiaod's must-visit list. "Ciao" means hello or goodbye in Italian. It’s said that the space is small with limited seating, so it’s often packed with foodies even on regular days and holidays. Plus, it’s famous for its ooey-gooey parmesan-filled panini sandwiches, and with two resident cats adding to the charm, it attracts plenty of cat lovers and cheese enthusiasts...

The shop is tucked away in an alley on Jinmen Street, in a rather quiet location. It’s about a ten-minute walk from Guting MRT Station, not too hard to find, but there are only six or seven seats, and no restroom is available. It’s also close toJishirei Literary Forest—a great spot to stroll around before enjoying a brunch here...

Once you step inside, the staff will remind you to keep the door closed—because their orange and white cats sometimes sneak out, though they probably just want some company.

Diners should be prepared: "the rules here are pretty strict!" Aside from limited hours on holidays and no takeout packaging offered, you’re expected to finish your meal or face a NT$10 fine, and orders are made in batches which takes some time.

As for pricing, I’d say it’s fairly reasonable—the average cost per person is around NT$150–200. On weekdays, the minimum spend is one drink, while on weekends it’s a drink plus a panini.

That day I ordered the Onion & Blueberry Smoked Chicken Cheese, Garlic Sauce Tuna Corn King Oyster Mushroom Cheese, Rose Salt Fresh Milk Tea, and Buongiorno Black Tea. The portion was just right for two. The shop also has a hidden menu, but it’s only available depending on the situation. The Rose Salt Fresh Milk Tea at NT$65 tasted much better than the Buongiorno Black Tea at NT$35—it wasn’t overly sweet and had just the right aroma. Paired with their cheese panini, it was a great combination.

The two paninis looked similar, but the bread was crispy and fragrant. The cheese options were regular, extra, and "bursting" (overflowing), with the latter choice free if you’re dining alone, but costing an extra NT$20–30 if sharing.

Overall, I personally preferred the "Garlic Sauce Tuna Corn King Oyster Mushroom Cheese" over the "Onion & Blueberry Smoked Chicken Cheese." The smoked chicken flavor wasn’t as pronounced as the tuna, but the sweetness stood out because of the blueberry sauce. I personally love garlic and tuna-corn flavors, and the king oyster mushrooms paired really well with the cheese, so I’d recommend the former more.
