The strawberry hot spring season in Miaoli has arrived! This year, the Miaoli County Government has adopted the themes of “slow city experience, light hot spring travel, and agricultural tourism,” integrating Miaoli’s hot spring industry with local fruit and agricultural specialties, along with leisurely sightseeing activities. Visitors can leave behind the hustle and bustle of the city and head to Miaoli to enjoy cultural scenery and experience the unique “onsen culture.”

Tai’an Hot Springs is a themed travel program that Miaoli has been actively developing in recent years. This year, it has been specially combined with the strawberry industry. In line with the Dahu strawberry harvest season, hot spring market events will be held on three consecutive Saturdays—January 6, 13, and 20, 2018—at the Dahu Winery. With the concept of “local production, local marketing,” visitors can taste the most authentic agricultural specialties and purchase one-of-a-kind souvenirs.

On the opening day of January 6, there will be promotional booths set up by legally licensed hot spring accommodations in Miaoli, as well as stalls selling agricultural specialties and cultural and creative souvenirs, attracting crowds looking for good deals and great hot springs. During the event period, there will also be 12 cultural and artistic performances, including magic shows that kids love, Hakka song performances, and hot spring dance routines, ensuring a different surprise every week.

In addition, this event introduces a limited-edition hot spring passport. In addition to offering discounts, it allows visitors to experience Taiwan’s only “beauty spring,” providing a five-sensory experience encompassing visual, taste, smell, auditory, and tactile elements during the activities.
