Taipei’s 4 Popular Flower Viewing Spots Revealed: Enjoy Wisteria, Azaleas & Calla Lilies in One Go!

As the cherry blossom season comes to an end, spring still has many beautiful blooms waiting for you to admire. The dreamy and enchanting wisteria, azaleas, and calla lilies can all be seen in Taipei. ETtoday EBC News Cloud has specially selected popular flower viewing spots in Taipei recently. In April, we don’t need to go far—just hop on a bus or MRT and head straight to the romantic sea of flowers!

Taipei Flower Village
Covering over ten thousand square meters, Taipei Flower Village is a compound floral and cultural creative park. This year, the wisteria season runs from March 22 to April 23. The wisteria is mainly divided into three areas: the Honest Ox Area, the Trellis Area, and the Wanxiang Plaza Area. Additionally, various other flowers are planted here, and events are held irregularly. Best of all, admission is free, making it perfect for family outings with both kids and elderly members.

Yangmingshan Calla Lily Season
The Zhuzihhu Calla Lily Season, now blanketed with white calla lilies, romantically kicked off at the end of March. On Instagram, you can often see couples and friends heading up the mountain to pick calla lilies, surrounded by vast fields of the elegant blooms, creating a truly picturesque scene. This year, in addition to picking calla lilies, there's a special new theme called “Manman” (slow and leisurely), combining popular anime and cartoon culture. A replica of the “Kameari Police Station” has been built in the calla lily fields, and the owner even dresses up as the manga character Kankichi Ryotsu to welcome the season with visitors in the “police station.”

Yangmingshan Azalea Flower Path (Yangmingshan Park)
Azaleas are the city flower of Taipei. Between March and May, various types of azaleas transform the parks into vibrant gardens bursting with blossoms. To enjoy the stunning sight of the “Azalea Flower Path,” don’t miss the stretch along Hubin Road leading toward Yangmingshan Park—approximately 80,000 azaleas bloom simultaneously, leaving visitors spellbound. Recently, the Pinghu Azalea Season in Yangmingshan Park has come to an end, making way for the native Golden Velvet Azaleas, which are currently blooming in full force.

Flower Experimentation Center
If you want to see a variety of azalea species, the Flower Experimentation Center is a must-visit. The center cultivates over 80 varieties, including those developed in-house and imported ones. It also features native Taiwanese azalea species such as the Wulai Azalea, Xishi Azalea, and Shoucheng Manshanhong Azalea, offering a dazzling display. Flowers bloom almost year-round here, and currently, the wisteria and fringe trees are in full bloom, while about 50% of the azaleas are flowering. Don’t miss this weekend to immerse yourself in floral bliss!
