1. Go on a Treasure Hunt in the Explorer’s Lobby
With the motto “Dare to explore and create dreams,” Walt Disney Imagineering Manager Li Chung-tak said he hopes every guest can become an explorer. The design incorporates common elements of the four continents: wood, bamboo, and other natural materials as the main theme, integrated throughout the corners.

In line with the concept of exploration, suitcases, tripods, and telescopes inspire the creation of tables and lighting fixtures. The ceiling above features an enormous inverted canoe, symbolizing the idea of travelers docking here. Take a closer look and you’ll find plenty of fun details.

Many hidden surprises are found in the details of the lobby, such as the suitcases of Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, and Donald Duck, the Mickey patterns on the floor tiles, and even the map behind the front desk where Mickey, Donald, and Goofy are cleverly hidden. Sharp-eyed guests can channel their inner explorer and go on a treasure hunt.

2. Hidden Surprises in the Rooms
The "Disney Explorers Lodge" has 7 floors and offers 750 rooms with sea or garden views, 70% of which are sea-view suites with direct views of the South China Sea. Nearly 50 rooms also offer views of the fireworks.

Notably, for those who fear sleeping poorly due to unfamiliar beds, the rooms offer a “storytelling” service. By pressing “Services” and then “Story Book” on the touchscreen, guests can choose from three Disney cartoon stories, available in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese. Additionally, the metal box containing toiletries can be taken home in its entirety. Room rates start from HK$2,200 per night (plus 10% tax).

3. Four Theme Gardens
The hotel’s four themed gardens are named after characters from Disney and Disney•Pixar animated films. These include the “Colorful Bird Gu Garden” themed around the South American landscapes in *Up*; the “Little Turtle Garden” showcasing the laid-back scenery of Oceania from *Finding Nemo*; the “Little Haddon Garden” inspired by the Asian nature in *The Jungle Book*; and the “Rafiki Garden” that captures the essence of the African savannah from *The Lion King*.

4. Three Themed Restaurants
The hotel features three themed restaurants: the Yunlongxuan Chinese Restaurant, the Qiancai Restaurant serving international cuisine, and the Star Chart Café. Yunlongxuan’s dishes are inspired by the concept of the “Five Elements,” offering traditional Cantonese fare and other Chinese specialties. The Qiancai Restaurant specializes in Southeast Asian international cuisine, blending exotic spices and cooking techniques, and its décor is also worth admiring. The Star Chart Café offers a variety of Mickey Mouse-shaped desserts, premium coffee, as well as European-style breakfast, salads, sandwiches, and pasta.

5. Exclusive merchandise at the “Jungle Shop”
The hotel’s “Jungle Shop” is packed with a dazzling array of goods that are hard to resist, especially for Disney fans. According to Justin, the merchandise manager, the shop stocks over 1,600 items, including 23 that are exclusive to the Explorer Resort Hotel, with more new products to be introduced soon.
