Fu Yang, currently studying at Fu Jen Catholic University, completed his first solo island-hopping trip during his first semester of freshman year. Since then, it’s been like flipping a switch—he brought six friends along during his second semester, and has gone on island-hopping trips every spring break since, each time discovering new joys.

Why compile such a guide? Fu Yang said he initially did it to help friends planning trips avoid the hassle of comparing various hostels. They’d ask about island accommodations but didn’t have the energy to go through all the options, so he compiled the list to offer some guidance. “But I’ve only stayed in about 20 of them, not all.”
