Taiwan’s largest Ferris wheel “Sky Dream” officially spins into action — even charge your phone in the cabin!

After nearly three years of construction and an investment of 550 million NTD, Taiwan’s largest Ferris wheel has officially started spinning — the “Sky Dream” Ferris wheel at Lihpao Land, ranked 9th in the world and 7th in Asia.“Sky Dream”officially launched on the 21st,boasting a striking red exterior, high-quality leather seats, and the added convenience of USB chargers inside each cabin.During the roughly 30-minute ride, you can snap photos to your heart’s content without fearing your phone will run out of battery, all while enjoying sweeping views of the 365-meter-tall landscape.

Taipei’s Lihpao Outlet, which officially opened this January, has already created a buzz for housing “Taiwan’s largest Ferris wheel.” Imported from Fukuoka, Japan, the project took nearly three years of planning and assembly, with an investment of 550 million NTD. The goal is for the new attraction to boost overall revenue for the resort area and establish a new landmark for Taichung and even Taiwan, attracting tourists from far and wide.

Sky Dream is being promoted asTaiwan’s only Ferris wheel featuring “automatic doors.”Once the cabin ascends, the doors close automatically. With a diameter of 120 meters and an original elevation of 245 meters, the total height of 365 meters rivals the observation deck of Taipei 101, making it a new prime spot for night views. The Ferris wheel is supported by eight A-shaped steel pillars, capable of withstanding earthquakes up to magnitude 6 and winds up to level 16, ensuring top safety standards. The entire structure consists of 60 cabins, each accommodating up to 8 passengers, with a ride duration of approximately 25–30 minutes.

However, visitors are reminded that although the Ferris wheel has officially begun spinning, it is not yet open to the public. In response to speculation about trial operations, park operators have announced that the Ferris wheel will officially open on May 13th. As for trial rides, updates will be posted on theofficial websiteas soon as they are available — the public is advised not to visit prematurely to avoid disappointment.
