The day begins with breakfast—your energy source for the whole day. Eating well is important, but just getting out of bed is hard enough, let alone finding time to buy breakfast. If you want your meal ready fast but don’t fancy cold convenience store food, fast food breakfasts are the perfect choice: freshly made hot meals that are convenient and quick. Among so many fast food chains, which dish reigns supreme?
DailyView’s Online Thermometer, through KEYPO Network Big Data, analyzed discussions on Facebook, PTT, news media, and forums from June 9, 2017 to December 5, 2017, compiling a list of netizens’ favorite fast food breakfasts. Topping the list is McDonald’s “Full Happiness Series,” featuring chewy bread stuffed with savory pork slices, crispy chicken cutlets, and tender eggs—a rich combination that’s a delight to eat. With seven different options, the Full Happiness Burger, selling 26 million units a year, is no surprise winner for first place. In second place is also from McDonald’s: the Jishi Egg Burger, made with a “steamed” sunnyside-up egg that’s soft and fluffy, paired with a drink for just NT$39—a great deal for budget-conscious diners.
Ranking third and fourth are Dan Dan Burger’s Cantonese Porridge and Mianxian Geng. This must-visit fast food spot in southern Taiwan blends Eastern and Western flavors. The classic Cantonese Porridge comes with corn, century egg, pork, and pork floss—extremely flavorful. The slightly sweet Mianxian Geng becomes even more addictive when spiced up with chili, and at such an affordable price, it’s no wonder it earned its spot on the list.
In fifth place is Mos Burger’s Beef & Egg Burger, with fresh lettuce and a Japanese-style sauce. Though slightly pricier, the generous portion makes it a great value for money.
Sixth to tenth place go to McDonald’s Ham & Egg Burger, KFC’s Scallion Pancake Series, Mos Burger’s Curry Pork Cutlet Burger, KFC’s All-in-One Omelet Burger, and Mos Burger’s Ham Omelet Burger.
