What are some must-visit spots when traveling to Taichung? Many would definitely mention Fengjia Shopping District. Nestled right within the bustling area, “Bigen Boutique Hotel” maintains a serene and peaceful atmosphere, completely shutting out the external noise. Li Tingyi, PR representative from the hotel’s operations department, stated that convenience in transportation is absolutely its biggest advantage — no need to worry about getting around even if you stay out late.

Unlike typical reception areas on the ground floor, this hotel’s reception zone is situated on the top 12th floor. It offers a spacious environment with the comfort and warmth of being at home. The hotel mainly uses light color tones such as white, replacing heavy and flashy decorations with natural wood slat furniture, creating a minimalist yet elegant ambiance. The fatigue from a long journey can instantly vanish here.

The hotel has a total of 130 guest rooms, divided into four types: Elegant Rooms, Classic Rooms, Grand Suites, and Bigen Suites. Compared to typical hotel rooms that tend to be dimly lit, “Bigen Boutique Hotel” has added extra lighting fixtures, making the rooms quite bright. The rooms continue with a silver-gray and pure white color scheme, complemented by plenty of wooden and marble elements, accented with several nature-themed paintings. While the overall vibe may not be particularly unique, it leaves a rather high level of favorability.

The hotel’s scenic restaurant is located on the top floor and only serves a buffet-style breakfast (both Chinese and Western) from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM daily. Outside of breakfast hours, the restaurant also offers free hot coffee, tea, and light snacks.

How does one survive in the highly competitive hotel industry? Li Tingyi stated,“Make the hotel go beyond just offering a place to stay, and provide guests with a complete experience.”Providing friendly service and comprehensive travel consultation goes without saying, but what’s more special is thatthe hotel caters to long-distance travelers by offering two washing machines that guests can use “for free” to wash and dry clothes, even including an iron.

Li Tingyi mentioned that currently 70% of the hotel’s guests are international travelers, and the goal is to increase the proportion of domestic guests. Therefore, promotions such as an 20% discount on Taiwan High-Speed Rail tickets when booking a room, and complimentary one-way shuttle service from the hotel to the airport/high-speed rail station have been introduced. For younger guests, there are also offers like a NT$500 voucher for partner stores when booking a Classic Room, and a Mother’s Day lucky draw for Classic Room stay coupons valid on both weekdays and weekends.
