Global Airport Rankings: Singapore Changi Retains Top Spot for Fifth Consecutive Year

The Skytrax World Airport Awards were announced in March in Amsterdam, where Singapore Changi Airport claimed the "World's Best Airport" award for the fifth year in a row. This result is based on surveys of millions of passengers.

According to CNN reports, the facilities across Changi’s three terminals are already impressive, including two 24-hour free movie theaters showing current releases, a rooftop swimming pool, and a butterfly garden. The fourth terminal is set to open in the second half of this year, and many are curious about what other amazing amenities it will offer.

Although Changi retains the top spot, the rankings behind it have seen some changes. For instance, Tokyo Haneda Airport pushed Incheon Airport out of second place to become number two, with Incheon now ranked third. Munich Airport in Germany dropped to fourth, while Hong Kong International Airport came in fifth. Hamad Airport in Doha climbed four spots to sixth—a major jump compared to its 22nd place in 2015. Frankfurt Airport also made its first appearance on the list.

Impressively, no North American airport made the top 10.

The ranking actually includes many detailed categories, such as cleanliness, food, and passenger service, among others. Tokyo Haneda was rated the cleanest, Hong Kong Airport had the best food,and Taoyuan Airport was also recognized as having the “Best Airport Staff.”。
