Pink Japanese cherry blossoms paired with red and yellow maples? The "Lala Mountain Camping Area" offers a breathtaking picturesque view.

Unlike common cherry blossom varieties, the Lala Mountain "Jabez Camping Area" grows Japanese-style Pink Moon Cherry Blossoms (松月樱), which don’t bloom until mid-April. Their pink, ball-like flowers are now nearly in full bloom and are expected to last until the end of April, to be followed by peach blossoms in May. Interestingly, due to abnormal climate conditions, red and golden maples can also be seen now. The Pink Moon Cherry Blossoms combined with vast swaths of reddish-brown maple leaves, set against a backdrop of layered mountain ranges, create a real-life scene resembling a landscape painting.

Pink Moon Cherry Blossoms are a unique species native to Japan, with around 25 petals that transition from pink to white. You can see two different colors overlapping at once, with the flowers hanging down like pink orbs—quite distinctive. The camping area also cultivates various other flower species, earning it the nickname “Jabez Garden.”

The "Jabez Camping Area" is located on Lala Mountain in Fuxing Township, Taoyuan, at an altitude of about 1,400 meters with temperatures around 17–20 degrees Celsius. In addition to flower viewing, the M-shaped cedar forest within the campsite is a major highlight, offering the feeling of lying in a forest while breathing in phytoncides that refresh the mind, body, and soul.

Walking along the forest trail, you can overlook Fuxingjian Mountain, Xinxing Tribe, and Guanghua Tribe. Campsite owner Uncle Ah Xin says that the afternoon is the best time for sightseeing, with a high chance of witnessing the spectacle of cloud waterfalls moving from the high-altitude primeval forests down to the valley streams—an incredibly beautiful sight. It’s a serene paradise away from the hustle and bustle.

Campsite owner Uncle Ah Xin, a local indigenous person, said he is aware of the fading of Atayal culture and wants to use the camping area as a platform to help visitors from outside learn about Atayal culture. Through cultural experiences such as Atayal cuisine, dance, and indigenous handicrafts, travelers can gain a deeper understanding of the rich, deeply rooted local culture.

The site offers 11 to 20 campsites for pitching tents, with prices around NT$1,000–1,200 per tent. It also provides coffee, light meals, and occasionally hosts Atayal DIY craft workshops and millet-pounding experience activities.
