End-of-the-world rush sale: 1.7-fold discount on five-star hotels, stay for just NT$1,221

According to the ancient Mayan prophecy, the end of the fifth sun cycle on December 21, 2012, will mark the end of the world. To echo this Mayan doomsday prediction and share joy and hope, hotel operators are inviting everyone to gather with friends and celebrate Earth’s rebirth day with a special discount promotion, offering room rates at a minimum of 1.7 times off.

Yunlan Tourism’s 10 hotels have launched the “1221 Stay Special” limited-time, limited-quantity booking campaign. For just NT$1,221 per person, guests can stay at The Regent Taipei or The Landis Taipei (each with only one room available), while the other eight properties offer rooms at NT$1,221 each, with five rooms available per hotel. Additionally, the hotel bars are offering a “1221 HAPPY HOUR – Count Down to the New Year with Yunlan,” featuring a buy-one-get-one-free deal on doomsday-themed drinks and a complimentary cocktail for overnight guests that night. There’s also a 1222 breakfast party discount of NT$121 per person, as well as a creative egg dish (symbolizing new birth) photo contest on Yunlan’s Facebook fan page, where 10 lucky winners will receive exquisite gifts.

The Regent Taipei, The Landis Taipei, The Han Taipei/New Taipei/Taitung/Kaohsiung, The Grand Park Miaoli/Taichung/Chiayi, and Zhongxin Hotel Zhongli are offering the “1221 Stay Special.” Starting at 3:00 PM on November 23 via the Yunlan official website, rooms for December 21 check-in will be available: The Regent Taipei (original price NT$12,650) and The Landis Taipei (original price NT$14,300), each with one room available for just NT$1,221 per person (two people per room required); The Han, The Grand Park, and The Zhong hotels (each with five rooms available, original prices ranging from NT$3,960 to NT$6,600; Zhongxin Xindian branch not included), at just NT$1,221 per room. All options offer discounts of at least 1.7 times off the original price.
