Travel Center / Comprehensive Report
These round and adorable taro balls are super cute, each filled with a whole Dahu strawberry and creamy cheese center, adding rich layers of flavor — a must-try for all taro lovers. Located in the red-earth hills of Taichung, Zhenshin Taro Balls mainly operates through online group purchases. Recently, they introduced a strawberry flavor, with a daily limit of 200 sets. Regular customers often buy over 10 boxes at a time, making it extremely popular.
Zhenshin Taro Balls, located in the red-earth hills of Taichung, has been running its workshop for over five years. It was founded by a couple who are passionate about sweets. The owner carefully selects high-quality Dajia taro, steams it, then mixes it with milk from local farms to make the taro paste. No preservatives or artificial flavorings are added, preserving the taro’s natural taste.
In addition to the original taro flavor, Zhenshin Taro Balls gets creative by stuffing the balls with cheese and seasonal fruits. With the strawberry harvest season in full swing, they’ve started including a whole Dahu strawberry inside the taro paste. The sweet and tangy strawberry bursts with juice upon biting, perfectly complementing the subtly fragrant taro without overpowering it.

The shop says the cheese flavor uses a sauce made without adding a single drop of water. When you bite into it together with the taro paste, the rich cheese bursts out, offering a silky and non-greasy texture that blends perfectly with the taro — a favorite among online reviewers. There are also seasonal flavors such as mixed fruit, kiwi, and mango. Each box contains three balls, priced between 45 and 55 NT$, and since no chemical additives are used, the shelf life is only three days.
