Shih Hsin University’s Broadcasting Department Creates Taiwan’s Coolest Christmas Tree – Stunningly Translucent and Supporting Charity

This year, the initial vision for the Shih Hsin University Broadcasting Department graduation exhibition was the impending “end of the world.” After countless “apocalyptic fantasies,” the students decided to build a Christmas tree out of plastic bottles. After three days of continuous fundraising and effort, they “collected” 1,500 bottles in a short time. The tree, initially built from stacked bottles, not only has a super cool look but also embodies both environmental awareness and creativity. More importantly, every single bottle represents the small contribution of a student.

“The most touching part is that even the cleaning aunties on campus helped us collect bottles,” shared Chang Wan-ling from the Broadcasting Department. What started as a simple promotional idea to warm up for next May’s graduation exhibition unexpectedly attracted many students to participate, eagerly donating leftover bottles, and even the school cleaning staff helped gather bottles around campus. “Every bottle collected is part of the Christmas tree—it feels like a tree we all built together,” said Chang Wan-ling emotionally.
