When visiting Vietnam, one attraction you absolutely can’t miss is the “Crazy House.” But the “Crazy House” isn’t home to lunatics — it’s designed for adventurous travelers from around the globe. Selected as one of the world’s top ten bizarre buildings in 2009, the Crazy House hotel blends wild imagination, merging concepts like Disney, giraffes, and caves into a single structure. It’s like a house gone mad, overflowing with all kinds of whimsical ideas.

This “Hang Nga Guesthouse,” located in Dalat, Vietnam, is a well-known local tourist attraction and also a place for travelers from around the world to stay. Because of its overly peculiar design, nearby residents and visitors have simply abandoned its original name and started calling it the “Crazy House.”

Designed by female architecture Ph.D. Dang Viet Nga, the Crazy House takes inspiration from the natural environment and Gaudí’s creativity. Without drafting blueprints, she communicated directly with architects through drawings. The building, symbolizing a “big tree,” incorporates shapes of animals, mushrooms, spider webs, giraffes, and more. It resembles an extremely chaotic large-scale architectural hotel. Just seeing its exterior is a feast for the eyes.

Covering a total area of 1,600 square meters and constructed using soft steel mesh and cement, the entire building features not a single right angle — only endless, peculiar imagination. The hotel includes two accommodation sections: the “Tree Stalk Hotel” and the “Spider Web Palace,” with a total of 10 uniquely themed rooms. Themes include tigers, ants, bats, eagles, and more. Staying in this completely unconventional hotel allows you to fully step into a “world of madness.”
