The Kanto region has recently been hit by heavy snowfall, and Tokyo has also welcomed this year’s first “first snow,” with the entire city shrouded in a snowy haze. Roads and buildings were covered in thick snow within a short period of time. Many shops have suspended delivery services due to the snowstorm, while flights to and from Tokyo have also been affected by the snow and wind, resulting in delays and runway closures.

“It changed color in just one night.” A Taiwanese resident living in Tokyo said that this winter’s “first snow” in Tokyo, which fell for just a few hours, had already accumulated thick snow across the city. The “blizzard” sweeping through the urban area has made streets difficult to walk on. Flights at Haneda and Narita airports have also been delayed or canceled due to the snowstorm. Travelers needing to go to or from Tokyo are advised to closely monitor flight operation updates to avoid delays or disruptions to their itineraries.
