Lavender Founder Zhan Huijun Passes Away; Lin Tingfei: Can't Accept This Fact

The optimistic and cheerful founder of Lavender, Zhan Huijun, was diagnosed with stage four lung adenocarcinoma on July 1, 2008, during a health check-up. She handed over the business to fellow co-founder Lin Tingfei and CEO Wang Cunhuang. In addition to continuing to care about the Lavender Forest team, she bravely and actively pursued treatment. Although doctors initially gave her only six months to live, Zhan Huijun, with her optimism and strength, survived for four years. However, she ultimately succumbed to the illness and passed away at 9:20 a.m. on the 14th at her home in Zhuolan.

Lin Tingfei, one of the co-founders, recalled Zhan Huijun in a letter to internal partners: "I remember the first day I met her—she was dressed in a suit, wearing a pink scarf around her neck, with neat short hair, looking just like a typical person from Taipei. Throughout the process of realizing her dream, she transitioned from suits to jeans, from designer bags to canvas totes produced by the company. The only thing that never changed was her heartfelt care for customers."

Lin Tingfei mentioned, "From her, I learned how to treat guests like friends. She was my mentor in being comfortable with customers. The positive her never showed helplessness or pain in front of us. She always faced her life and everything with joy and simplicity, and with belief. So, even heaven granted our wish—letting us have her with us for these extra years."　　

"Huijun loved to travel. After falling ill, she often imagined what scenarios she would encounter during the annual management trips, and even told me what she thought she would experience. I think she must have quietly packed her bags already. She cried several times too when she was restricted from traveling by her doctors."
