Last updated 2026-09-26 — Located near Rainbow Village in Taichung, “Le Rouge” has been officially open for just over a month. The shop specializes in unique burgers. Aside from the “Smoker’s Burger,” which emits swirling smoke when served — reminiscent of the dramatic plating scenes from the anime “Cooking Master Boy” — there’s also the “Orange Yuzu Green,” combining orange, yuzu, sparkling water, and lemon. This drink cleverly plays on the name of a character from a TV drama, “Cheng Youqing,” showing impressive creativity.

Smoker’s Beef Burger
Includes beef, bacon, lettuce, fried onion rings, smoked cheese sauce, and the most special cherry wood smoked flavor. When served, it creates a magical effect akin to something out of “Cooking Master Boy.” The staff explained: “We don’t use dry ice — we use cherry wood smoking. So when you open it, aside from the surrounding smoke, which is similar to the concept of molecular gastronomy, customers can also enjoy the aroma of cherry wood while eating.” It’s worth mentioning that the restaurant’s cheese sauce is made by simmering sharp cheddar for a long time, giving it a uniquely rich texture you won’t find elsewhere. The aroma is also infused into the burger, setting it apart from others.

The shop reimagined the traditional satay recipe with a satay-inspired concept to create a sauce that pairs better with burgers and doesn’t overpower the flavors. The staff explained: “We noticed many people eat peanut butter burgers, but we felt that peanut butter was too sweet and lacked distinction, so we changed the recipe and specially added Kinmen candy sugar.” The satay sauce is based on peanuts, and they wanted to integrate something with a peanut foundation, hence the addition of candy sugar. After all the ingredients are added, the burger is torched, resulting in an aromatic, layered flavor explosion.

Growing Up
The concept behind this name is that kids want to drink coffee but find it too bitter, so cola elements were added. The staff said: “We think our burgers are quite unique, so we also wanted some different drink options.” Additionally, the shop offers another beverage called “Espresso Bomb,” a curious combination of Sprite and espresso.

Buffalo Wings
Unlike some other vendors, the shop uses the sous-vide method to cook the wings and then finishes them with high heat before serving. This ensures the juices are sealed inside. The sauce is homemade, simmered for over an hour, and paired with blue cheese, celery, and pickles to cut through the richness.

A mix of orange, yuzu, sparkling water, and lemon. The staff said: “We wanted it to have a unique taste, so we used a salt-rimmed glass, and the effect has been quite good. It tastes sweet and sour, almost like a mojito without the alcohol.”
