1. Taipei City | Daonan Riverside Park
Taipei City’s Water Resources Department has planned multiple flower field areas in riverside parks at the end of this year. They have been blooming successively since early December. Currently, two flower fields at Daonan Riverside are in full bloom. The best viewing period is from now until mid-January next year. Over 110,000 pots of colorful flowering plants are used to create simple yet vivid patterns on the ground, bringing out a playful and childlike feel.

These two flower fields are located along the top of the embankment near Exit 1 of Muzha Metro Station, and 200 meters upstream from Hengguang Bridge, close to Taipei Zoo and National Chengchi University. In addition to getting up close to the flowers, the Taipei City Water Resources Department also recommends visitors take the Maokong Gondola or the Wenhu Line of the MRT, or even ride the waterside elevator next to the National Chengchi University Arts Center, to view the creatively designed landscape totems from above.

2. Taichung City | Taichung Flower Carpet Festival
The Taichung International Flower Carpet Festival has kicked off at Houli Flower Field Green Corridor. This year’s main flower carpet features the city flower of Taichung, the “mountain cherry blossom,” dancing alongside dynamic mechanical flowers such as lilies and cosmos. There are three major themed highlights: Mountain Cherry Blossoms in Bloom, The Happy Song of the Formosan Clouded Leopard Family, and The Earth’s Colorful Canvas. Visitors can not only enjoy the flowers but also interact with five musical instrument-themed installations, making it fun to play and take photos among the blooms.

3. Hualien City | Guofu Flower Sea
This year’s highlight for flower viewing at the end of the year in eastern Taiwan is the Guofu Flower Sea in Hualien, which opened to the public on the 23rd. This year, the Guofu Flower Sea uses about 70,000 plants including Begonia semperflorens, salvia, marigolds, and poinsettias to create a vibrant flower sea and a “Fu” (good fortune) character maze. The flower viewing period will last for three months, expected to end around the Lantern Festival.

The Hualien City Government stated that this year’s Guofu Flower Sea is different from previous years, featuring the first-ever planted maze. Designed with the concept of “Fu” (good fortune), the “Fu” character maze allows visitors to not only enjoy the flowers but also feel as if they are “immersed in good fortune.”
