Nantou’s Cherry Blossom Tea Parties Kick Off in Relay — Savor Tea and Blossoms to Celebrate the Cherry Blossom Festival

Taiwan’s largest black tea producing region is Yuchi Township in Nantou County. This year, the local amusement park launched a grand Cherry Blossom Festival, integrating local specialties by hosting one cherry blossom tea party after another. Enjoying tea and admiring flowers under the beautiful blossoms has become a major highlight attracting visitors.

The Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village recently held the “Cherry Blossom Tea Party Series 0? Launch, Sharing & Tasting” event, gathering 60 tea masters together. Amidst the boundless spring scenery and the falling petals of the cherry blossom lake and woods, 60 distinctive tea stations were set up, brewing locally produced high-quality tea from Sun Moon Lake. Tea was served to guests from all directions, and the heartfelt hospitality along with the fragrance of tea brought the series of cherry blossom tea parties to their climax, while also marking the end of this year’s early-blooming, short-lived cherry blossom season.

This cherry blossom tea party, jointly organized by the Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village, Yuchi Township Office, Zhenzang Tea House, and Little Bottle Tea Boutique, invited tea masters from major tea-producing areas across Nantou County — including Yuchi, Lugu, Zhushan, Mingjian, and Ren’ai — each showcasing their carefully selected tea sets to reflect their unique artistic style for the tea stations. They brewed Nantou’s local fine teas to share with cherry blossom-viewing visitors from all over Taiwan.

The Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village stated that following the Cherry Blossom Train, the Cherry Blossom Festival will soon enter the romantic second chapter of the “Purple Love Lavender” event. In the flower garden area, last year’s popular purple lavender fields will be revived, filling the air with the sweet scent of lavender. A large 1.5-meter-tall plush toy will also be displayed at the center fountain of the European Garden, where visitors can enjoy the romance of lavender together.

Additionally, during the March Purple Love Lavender event, a Purple Love March Music Concert is scheduled every weekend. During the floral season, ticket prices are specially discounted to just NT$580 (original price NT$780), and also include free rides on the Sun Moon Lake Gondola (original price NT$300), plus free access to the One Piece Theme Park’s special events.
