As March gives way to spring, it’s the perfect time for families to go out and enjoy the fresh blooms. The gentle spring breeze brings the scents of the season—New Taipei City’s Agriculture Bureau recommends a new nearby hidden spot and has launched a limited-time “Pomelo Blossom Viewing” seasonal package.

To offer the public a new travel option, from March 24 to April 3, during the blooming period of pomelo blossoms, the New Taipei City Government Agriculture Bureau has introduced a limited-time local package in Bali. The itinerary is carefully planned to guide visitors along the best flower-viewing routes. Professionals will explain how to appreciate the beauty of pomelo blossoms, and the trip also includes guided tours of Xilongyan Temple, a stroll through the old ferry street, visits to the 13 Hongs Museum, and hikes on Guanyin Mountain trails. These experiences blend culture, ecology, and history, offering intellectual stimulation, fun, and cultural significance.

Liu Rongqing, Director of the Agriculture Bureau, said that pomelo cultivation in New Taipei spans areas including Bali, Xindian, Tamsui, Wugu, and Linkou, with Bali being the main production area, accounting for about 60% of the city’s total yield. From late March to early April each year, the large, elegant white pomelo blossoms bloom, filling the air with their fragrant scent and offering high scenic value.

Starting this year, the Agriculture Bureau has integrated resources such as local cultural characteristics, natural ecology, and landscape features, allowing consumers to go deep into the fields and see firsthand how farming is done. This helps build consumer confidence in purchasing agricultural specialties. The initiative not only supports farmers but also ensures the health of consumers. To invite more people to visit orchards, the Bureau has also partnered with travel agencies for the first time, using cross-industry collaborations to provide a high-quality experience.
