Welcome the first ray of sunshine in 2018！Fulong New Year’s Day Concert Serves Energizing Breakfast

The “2018 Fulong Welcoming the First Light” event will kick off at 3:30 AM on January 1 next year at Fulong Beach. Co-organized by the Northeast Coast National Scenic Area Administration and Fullon Hotels, the “Fulong Light Spot Series” will not only distribute a limited 888 breakfast vouchers on-site, but also feature a vibrant stage performance lineup. Additionally, the Lingjiu Mountain Wusheng Taoist Monastery will hold a “Bell Ringing to Welcome the New Year” ceremony, guiding participants in prayer and welcoming the first ray of sunshine in 2018.

The Northeast Coast National Scenic Area Administration has recently set up several “light environment” photo spots along the North Coast, offering visitors new Instagrammable locations. Moreover, 888 visitors at Fulong Beach will receive energizing breakfasts, and a concert will be held featuring a series of performances including Control T from Wind Music, Shuang Band, Xuan Wu Yan Dance, and the Gongliao Junior High School Taiko Drum Team.

In addition, before sunrise, monks from the Lingjiu Mountain Wusheng Taoist Monastery will guide visitors in a one-minute Peace Meditation and prayer. At sunrise, 6:37 AM, all attendees will together ring the bell 18 times using the rope rings to welcome the first ray of the new year.

The scenic area administration stated that for this event, Taiwan Railways has added extra express trains from Shulin to Fulong (Train No. 4006), departing Shulin at 2:30 AM on January 1, stopping at Banqiao (2:38), Taipei (2:50), Songshan (2:58), Nangang (3:03), and Fulong (3:50). After celebrating New Year’s Eve at Taipei 101, everyone is welcome to hop on the First Light Train to continue the celebration in Fulong until dawn.
