Newly Opened Scenic Restaurant in Hsinchu Guanxi – Admire the Tapioca Trees by the Romantic Heart-Shaped Pond!

This heart-shaped pond has a poetic name given by the owner—it’s called “Jìng Chí” (Tranquil Pond). The area is surrounded by tapioca trees, and the pond’s flowing water is soft, calm, and home to playful fish. It’s a truly worry-free sight!

We have to say, Kevin was really lucky that day—not only was the weather perfect, but he also managed to capture the reflection of the tapioca trees. It looks like this place is going to become a hotspot for photographers soon!

The scenery is so beautiful that we couldn’t help but pause and soak it all in. Standing by the pond brings a strangely calming and relaxing feeling. The emotion of the moment is hard to put into words—we can only say that you really have to experience it in person to truly appreciate it.

Of course—this stunning tapioca tree hideaway is also a fantastic spot for portrait photography. The endless forest of tapioca trees makes the perfect backdrop. Even Kevin said the background is so beautiful it steals the show!

Dàlè Zhīyě Landscape Restaurant is newly opened, so the tapioca trees and grassy areas are still relatively new. Some parts of the grass are still being maintained.

Next to the heart-shaped pond, there’s also an observation trail. Walking along it allows you to get a close-up view of the tapioca trees. The sunlight filtering through their golden leaves is dazzling and mesmerizing, making it hard not to keep looking up.

You might notice many of the tapioca trees are supported by bamboo poles. According to the staff, these are newly transplanted trees, so bamboo supports are used initially to stabilize them.

This particular tapioca tree, tied up with ropes, is said by the waiter to be the largest one in Taiwan. Though, to us, it kind of looks like a feather duster (lol)!

We used ourselves as a scale to show just how huge this tapioca tree is. The owner mentioned that the landscaping here is designed to preserve the natural ecosystem, and they’re huge nature lovers themselves—especially fond of these trees. Their thoughtful planning and design aim to offer visitors a beautiful environment.

After admiring the tapioca trees, it’s time to head to the restaurant with friends for a meal. Dàlè Zhīyě features a Japanese-style outdoor courtyard, and just walking along the path is incredibly relaxing.

The interior of Dàlè Zhīyě Restaurant is classic and elegant, with a faint scent of teak wood as you enter. The space is spacious and bright, offering four-seater tables, six-seater tables, and large round tables suitable for gatherings—perfect for family meals or get-togethers with friends.

We noticed the restaurant features many large wooden decorations, such as bookshelves made from driftwood and even old ox cart wheels... It’s clear the owner has put a lot of thought and creativity into the place. You really need to explore and take your time to appreciate just how special this restaurant is.

Dining here is an amazing experience. Not only is the decor cozy and well arranged, but even the tableware consists of finely crafted Japanese porcelain. The little details show just how much care the owners put into running this place.

Even better, the restaurant is surrounded by floor-to-ceiling windows, allowing you to enjoy the outdoor scenery while you eat—an absolutely delightful experience!

Upon being seated, the table settings are all ready, and the server will promptly serve you tea. The service at Dàlè Zhīyě Landscape Restaurant is excellent—you can really feel their warm hospitality and dedication to guests.

Dayuezhuye. Menu

The menu at Dayuezhuye is quite extensive, mainly offering traditional Chinese cuisine, as well as Thai-style dishes, seafood, and vegetarian options. There are small and large portion sizes available, so friends can order according to the number of people. On weekdays, à la carte orders are available, but on holidays when it’s busier, set meals are more common.

Thai Basil Pork $280

The Thai Basil Pork arrives with an aromatic fragrance, has a moderate portion size, rich flavor, and goes very well with rice. Kevin’s friend ate two bowls of rice just with this dish alone.

Scallion Eggplant $220

The Scallion Eggplant is stir-fried to flavorful perfection—the eggplant has a soft and tender texture and tastes great with rice.

Garlic Beef $280

The Garlic Beef is flavorful and delicious. The sauce is well-seasoned, though... the beef texture is a bit tough. The dishes we ordered with our friends today were all super satisfying with rice, and the staff kindly reminded us to eat slowly. Overall, the meal was quite tasty, but the serving speed was a bit slow.

Dayuezhuye is a fantastic scenic restaurant, featuring a beautiful forest of metasequoia trees and a romantic heart-shaped pond that’s incredibly picturesque. The restaurant also offers comfortable dining spaces with great views. It specializes in traditional Chinese cuisine, and the flavors are quite good. The service staff are attentive and thoughtful—dining here is a real treat. It’s a new photo spot in Guanxi, Hsinchu, and the most romantic hidden gem of metasequoia forests.
