The beach is like the foam on coffee — Australia’s deserted islands are “bubbling” with beauty

Looking down at this stretch of sea from high above, doesn’t it resemble the thick foam of coffee poured generously over the surface? Pristine white sands and crystal-clear blue waters — this breathtaking seascape is located on Whitsunday Island, one of the deserted islands in the Great Barrier Reef archipelago of Queensland, Australia. It is known as Whitehaven Beach.

There are 74 islands in the Whitsunday group, and Whitehaven Beach is one of them. Stretching nearly 7 kilometers, this uninhabited beach is exceptionally well-preserved, featuring 98% silica sand that has been shaped by tides into this astonishingly beautiful landscape. Whitehaven Beach was also named one of the most eco-friendly beaches by CNN in 2010 and has been ranked as Queensland’s cleanest beach.

However, as it is an uninhabited island, visitors must hire a guide as required by the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority and travel there by boat.
