Get outdoors！The Tourism Bureau promotes eco-tourism experiences & gives away 2 “free trips” daily

Taiwan has rich ecological resources. The Tourism Bureau encourages everyone to go outdoors and specifically promotes eco-tourism experience itineraries, inviting families to explore Taiwan and connect with nature. From May 4 to May 14, 2017, answer eco-related questions on the official fan page and you could win one of 26 quality eco-experience packages—where one winner gets to bring a companion—plus 50 “eco-experience vouchers” worth NT$50,000 each, allowing travelers to discover Taiwan’s ecological features and enjoy the beauty of nature through the journey.

I. “Generous Giveaway of Eco-Experience Itineraries” Campaign

From May 4 to May 14, the Tourism Bureau will hold the “Generous Giveaway of Eco-Experience Itineraries” campaign with a total value of NT$250,000. The public can answer eco-related questions on the designated post of the official Facebook fan page “Explore Taiwan: Eco-Experiences” and agree to share their travel stories online after the trip for a chance to win one of 26 quality eco-experience packages—with one winner bringing a companion.

Eco-tourism itineraries include, for example, exploring the secret trail at Aixi Mouth in Chiayi and learning about the traditions and modernity of the Aogu Wetlands. Or stroll along the Ji’an Tailings Railway Trail in Taipingshan, Yilan, to experience the ambiance of primeval forests and a “forest bath.” Or take a boat in Jinshan, New Taipei, to experience the cultural heritage of the unique fishing method known as “Sulphur Port Fishing Fires,” or admire the mountain fog and indigenous plants at Guanwu in Shei-Pa National Park.

II. “Eco-Experience Voucher” Campaign

Starting April 26, the Tourism Bureau launched the “Taiwan Local Tourism Ambassadors” selection campaign, seeking creative travel videos to choose one ambassador each from northern, central, southern, and eastern Taiwan to showcase the island’s diverse ecological beauty. Registration closes on May 15, and online voting begins on May 17. Participants in the vote can win one of 50 “Eco-Experience Vouchers” worth NT$1,000 each.
