Can you feel the gentle spring breeze and the warmth of May in the air? Mother’s Day is just around the corner. Major cake shops and dessert specialty stores have kicked off their Mother’s Day sales battle, each launching uniquely flavored and creatively designed cakes to attract customers.
The French brand PAUL has launched a new Mother’s Day exclusive this year — the “Berry Charlotte” cake. Inspired by the 18th-century French chef’s royal dessert “Charlotte,” which was once presented to the British Queen Charlotte, this cake is layered with a selection of imported mixed berries rich in antioxidants and known for their skin-brightening properties. These are encased by classic ladyfinger biscuits that are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, resembling fingers, along with a smooth and creamy egg yolk custard filling. With one bite, the sweet and tangy flavors are as rich and heartfelt as love for mommy.
The imported mixed berries offer a sweet-tangy taste and include raspberries, which help whiten skin, fight oxidation, and promote metabolism; blackberries, high in vitamin C to boost immunity; and blueberries, packed with anthocyanin antioxidants to enhance memory. In addition, the “Berry Charlotte” is surrounded by the classic crispy-yet-soft ladyfinger biscuits with a rich texture. It also features a French-style meringue sponge cake made using traditional methods, along with a uniquely smooth and velvety French egg yolk custard filling. One bite delivers a medley of fresh, juicy berry tartness intertwined with sweet, creamy milkiness, where the flavors of each ingredient enhance one another, resulting in a truly exceptional multi-layered taste experience.
