Dubai’s boldness in architecture is almost unmatched by any other country in the world. While architectural news from other nations is rare, Dubai seems to make headlines several times a year. The latest topic of discussion, the Dubai Frame, features a golden exterior that resembles a giant picture frame from afar—and this unique structure is set to open in 2018.

Dubai already has countless attractions, such as the Burj Khalifa, the Burj Al Arab, and the man-made islands, and more seem to be added continually. According to the Lonely Planet website,the Dubai Frame is located in Zabeel Park. This 150-meter-high architectural marvel symbolizes both old and new Dubai, and visitors can enjoy a 360-degree panoramic view of the city from the bridge in the middle.

The ground floor houses a gallery museum that uses 3D projections to revisit the history of old Dubai, and visitors can also explore the city’s cultural heritage through virtual reality.

The color of the building’s exterior has also sparked much curiosity. In fact, the Dubai Frame was initially planned to be silver, but gold was ultimately chosen to enhance the structure’s aesthetic appeal. Under sunlight, the golden frame will create a strikingly shiny visual effect.

According to official information, the current ticket prices are around NT$500 for adults and NT$250 for children.The exact opening date has yet to be announced.
