Last updated 2026-09-25 — The Hardy American Restaurant, which had been closed for several years, finally made a comeback in 2016. The Hardy American Restaurant, which had been closed for several years, finally made a comeback in 2016. The new location is on Měishù Dōngsì Lù (East Fourth Road of Fine Arts), and it operates under the new brand name WEEE. When it first reopened, it only served lunch and dinner. We had also shared a dining review with everyone at that time. It wasn’t until early 2017 that the restaurant began developing and launching its brunch series.

The original Hardy did offer brunch, but at the time, as it was a new store, they were concerned about insufficient staff training. It wasn’t until the new location became more stable that they planned to introduce the brunch menu.

The last time I dined here was in the evening; this time, it was a weekend morning. The first-floor dining area is much brighter, and there’s also a dining space on the second floor.

The menu in my hand was just updated a few days ago. The first page features the brunch menu, which includes main courses, soups, a drink for 50 NT$, a choice between salad or grilled vegetables, seasonal fruits, and you can also add a yogurt for an extra 30 NT$.

Brunch comes with a 50 NT$ iced black tea, and you can also pay the difference to switch to other drinks.

Appetizers, snacks, and light meals

Handmade 8T pizza, priced between 219 NT$ and 239 NT$.

Non-beef-flavored handmade burgers, as well as 20cm and 30cm hot dog burgers.

Hand-patted beef burgers and sliced grilled beef burgers

Drinks include coffee, tea, soda and cola, and beer

Rockin’ Hula Hoop BBQ Hot Dog Burger 239 NT$ (includes 1 cup of iced black tea)

The 30cm-long hot dog burger not only has a German sausage but is also topped with fried onion rings. The sauce drizzled on top isn’t the usual ketchup but BBQ sauce, along with a white sauce on the lettuce and a honey mustard sauce on the wax paper. The flavors are sweet and pair very well with the hot dog.

The onion rings are crispy from being freshly fried—just as delicious as the side of crispy fries.

The hot dog burger not only has fried onions but also sautéed onions, accompanied by stir-fried vegetables, giving a nice, crisp texture.

Fisherman’s Seafood Dip Bread 279 NT$ (includes 1 cup of iced black tea) + 30 NT$ for yogurt

An extremely hearty brunch selection. In addition to the main Fisherman’s Seafood dish, there’s also delicious mushroom soup, fresh fruit marinated in honey and lemon, various types of bread, a generous serving of salad, and roasted accordion potatoes.

The Fisherman’s Seafood Dip Bread is originally a breakfast dish from the Middle Eastern/Israeli region. It uses a tomato-based red sauce and Italian salsa to create the dip, which is then mixed with assorted seafood and clams, along with two poached eggs. As the egg yolks flow into the sauce, the thick consistency adheres better to the bread. This brunch item is quite fresh and interesting.

Yogurt, a favorite among girls, is topped with brown sugar and has a layer of blueberry sauce at the bottom. The brown sugar balances the tanginess of the yogurt, resulting in a slightly sweet and sour taste that’s really delicious.

The salad uses a bacon vinaigrette and is sprinkled with some cheese powder. The portion is huge; next to it is the roasted accordion potato, which is also an extremely generous portion—one person can’t finish it all.

Eggs Benedict with Ham and Bacon 259 NT$ (includes 1 cup of iced black tea)

The eggs used by the restaurant come from naturally raised free-range chickens. As soon as you bite into them, the yolk bursts out—you can barely catch it with your mouth.

Blueberry Pancakes with Ice Cream 170 NT$ / à la carte

Vanilla ice cream pairs quite well with warm, thick pancakes. Drizzled with 100% pure maple syrup prepared by the restaurant, the soft pancakes are also spread with the shop’s homemade non-sugary whipped cream. Even if you’re not having it for breakfast, it’s perfect as an afternoon tea snack.

Classic French Toast with Egg 160 NT$

The French toast is made with Danish bread, also served with maple syrup and the restaurant’s homemade whipped cream. The bread is lightly dusted with cinnamon powder—there’s a hint of cinnamon flavor without being too heavy, and the toast itself is incredibly soft and delicious.

Caramel Macchiato 140 NT$ / hot, Fresh Milk Tea 80 NT$

Each set meal comes with a cup of black tea for NT$50. If you'd like to switch to another drink, just pay the price difference. My husband ordered a caramel macchiato, which Shadow didn’t try, but he said the coffee was delicious and smooth. The sweetness level of the fresh milk tea is fixed—it’s not very sweet, about the same as lightly sweetened.

The restaurant uses high-quality ingredients in its dishes. From the sauces to some of the breads, and even the hand-patted burger patties, everything is made in-house. They carefully select their ingredients while ensuring great taste, so it’s understandable that the prices are a bit higher. There are so many dishes here that we can’t share them all, so we’ll leave it for everyone to come and try for themselves. We highly recommend this bountiful and satisfying brunch.
