Dazzling coral reefs on "Green Island" – Sea adventures, snorkeling, and hot springs

With summer vacation approaching, how about an island getaway? With its sunny weather, crystal-clear blue waters, beautiful beaches, and stunning coral reefs, "Green Island" is a great choice for an island trip. This summer, during July and August, the Taitung County Salvation Army Youth Corps has planned six sessionsof the "Green Island Snorkeling Adventure Team"to take young people and families away from the hustle and bustle of the city and offer them a unique snorkeling experience.

Centered around the themes of "island sightseeing, sea adventures, snorkeling, hot spring spa, and playing in the waves," the "Green Island Snorkeling Adventure Team" emphasizes leisure quality. Among these,the "snorkeling activity" is the most distinctive highlight,featuring instruction by international-level coaches who will guide visitors into the underwater world to admire world-class coral reefs and vibrant tropical fish. Additionally,the "Asahi Hot Springs" are one of the world’s three major submarine hot springs,and evening visits will be arranged to enjoy a soak in the seawater hot springs. With starry skies above and a gentle sea breeze caressing your face, it’s a truly wonderful experience.

Composed of volcanic agglomerate rocks, Green Island has been shaped over time by erosion and wave action, forming unique coastal landscapes that are truly captivating. This tour takes you on a full circle around the island, guided throughout by interpreters to explore details such as the Guanyin Cave, a center of local folk beliefs; the Asahi Hot Springs; and the Sea Cucumber Flat. You’ll also get bird’s-eye views of formations like the Sleeping Beauty and the Pug Dog, General Rock, as well as the Green Island Human Rights Cultural Park and the sunset views from Niutou Mountain.
