No one likes getting a bad meal, no matter what you’re eating, but the question is how to tell so you don’t waste your money? Renowned American chefAnthony Bourdainadvises travelers that if they see certain items on a menu, they might as well walk out of the restaurant. While his opinion may be a bit extreme, it’s occasionally worth considering his high culinary standards.

According to the UK's Independent,“If you see a Kobe beef slider, you can just leave the restaurant”, Bourdain said. Aside from the higher price, there’s no added flavor benefit. Bourdain also commented on recent food trends, calling truffle oil “truly horrible,” reasoning that it’s not really food at all — basically the same as lubricant.

Brunch, a popular weekend meal among Taiwanese, was also criticized. Bourdain found the trend puzzling, saying it involves “recombining leftovers in a lousy, snarky way and selling them for triple the price.” However, he did praise cronuts — croissant-doughnut hybrids with a crispy crust — calling them delicious.
