[Travel Fun Fact] Traveling with Cats: Hiroshima Launches Cat’s-Eye View Google Map?

When traveling, we always rely on Google Maps, which over the years has been created step by step by a team of workers to guide us. But this timeJapan'sHiroshimaTourism Board (カンパイ！HiroshimaPrefecture) is trying something new—using cats as the first-person perspective map, mimicking Google Maps, allowing visitors to exploreHiroshimafrom a small animal’s point of view.

The homepage features the head of Hiroshima’s Little Corner Tourism Department, RARA the cat.HiroshimaThe places RARA visits are small alleys, shrines, and other spots that sometimes even Google Maps can’t show—truly exploring like a cat, squeezing into every nook and cranny. Although currently only two areas in Onomichi City have cat’s-eye view street scenes...

...seeing the world from a cat’s perspective makes even small alleys look surprisingly spacious.

And some locations even include videos shot from the camera mounted on RARA. But for now, only two areas are available—hopefully more will be added in the future.
