【Taipei Highlights】5 Must-See Popular Japanese Anime Exhibitions!

Taiwan is also known as the Treasure Island. For Japanese anime fans, they must wish they could move to Taiwan and live there for a few months. From now until 3 月 29 日, there will be various Japanese anime exhibitions popping up all over Taipei. Whether it’s the intense "Attack on Titan", or the heartwarming "Gudetama" and "Tarepanda", and most of the locations are near MRT stations — even if you walk till your feet break, you can still relax afterward.

1. Attack on Titan Exhibition

"Attack on Titan" has earned its place at Universal Studios Japan in Osaka — its popularity is undeniable. This time, the venue will feature famous scenes from the series, along with immersive “assault” experience theaters created using visual, lighting, and sound effects. Alongside the classic life-size "Colossal Titan" and real-life displays such as the basement and Grisha Yeager's laboratory from the manga, fans are sure to be excited. But the best is yet to come — in addition to original manuscripts and creative notes from author Hajime Isayama, there will be a groundbreaking 360° sensory theater called “Roar” where you can enter the virtual anime world wearing a headset and join the battlefield against the Titans. Of course, there will also be limited-edition merchandise available on-site!

2. Gudetama Can’t Be Bothered Exhibition

The charm of Gudetama lies in its laziness, but you wouldn’t have guessed that Ob would bring cosplay to this Taiwanese exhibition. With two floors and five exhibition zones, there are so many photo spots. Must-sees include Gudetama dressed as the Jade Emperor, selling betel nuts in a bikini at the Gudetama Night Market, and even pretending to be an unlicensed doctor in green and yellow — the cuteness level is off the charts. There’s also a snack stall at the exit where you can literally devour Gudetama... egg cake, that is!

3. Detective Conan 20th Anniversary Exhibition

If you think you have the brains of Detective Conan, then this exhibition should be no challenge for you. The manga has been serialized for 20 years, and Shinichi and Conan have never appeared in the same space — until now. This special 20th-anniversary exhibition features life-size figures of “Conan x Shinichi” at the entrance to greet every visitor. Inside, you’ll find realistic recreations of crime scenes, including “bloodstains” and “traces of scuffles,” making it feel like a real murder investigation. And if you want to see the original manuscripts, you’ll have to put your brain to work. The exhibition includes an interactive zone where visitors receive a detective handbook and must solve a case before they can access the manuscript area.

4. One Piece 15th Anniversary Exhibition

The representative of youthful enthusiasm, One Piece, is already celebrating its 15th birthday this year！This anniversary exhibition features four themed zones, including never-before-seen behind-the-scenes footage from the anime, Taiwan’s first-ever display of 3D scene dioramas, as well as fun interactive games. Must-see spots include a giant Thousand Sunny ship model, 1:1 life-sized pirate crew figures, and the “New World” adventure scene！

5. Rilakkuma Sweet Time Exhibition

Rilakkuma comes in ever-changing forms, and almost every girl finds these adorable designs delightful！This large-scale solo exhibition showcases nearly a hundred original Rilakkuma design sketches, unveiled to the public for the very first time. There’s also an interactive picture book that incorporates motion-sensing technology to introduce Rilakkuma from multiple perspectives.
