Pink sand beaches are rare around the world, but what makes Harbour Island’s pink sand beach truly special is its dreamy hue. The endless shoreline stretches out in a soft shade of pink, embraced by blue skies and white clouds, creating a paradise-like experience!

No wonder it has been ranked by Forbes as one of “the most beautiful beaches in the world,” attracting travelers from all over. The pink sand is actually made up of tiny fragments from the shells of local foraminifera—tiny organisms with red or pink-colored exoskeletons. These organisms attach themselves to nearby reefs, and after being broken apart by waves or attacked by marine life, their remains are washed ashore. When these colorful shells mix with white coral powder, they create the stunning scenery of the beach!
