Are you ready to embrace the warm embrace of Kenting’s sunny beaches this scorching summer? During peak season, Kenting’s popular beaches are crowded with colorful umbrellas, while the sea is filled with sailboats and jet skis. Although people enjoy the lively fun, marine life can’t find peace. To balance tourism and ocean conservation, Houbi Bay in Kenting actively promotes non-motorized water activities such as canoeing and the emerging SUP (stand-up paddleboarding), and will also hold the "Non-Motorized Launch Fun" experience event on the 14th.

Houbi, a small fishing village on the western coast of Kenting, is like an isolated sandbar—quiet and beautiful. With its rich intertidal ecosystem and romantic seaside sunset, it’s a great place to relax on vacation. The Houbi community, with its beautiful bay scenery, has been actively advocating for non-motorized water activities for years. The Kenting National Park Headquarters began a six-month trial in December 2016, and Houbi has since become the ninth ecotourism community in Kenting National Park.

The rainbow bridge by Houbi’s embankment was once a filming location for the movie "Cape No. 7." After the movie’s success, it brought a wave of tourists to the small fishing village. Strolling along the fine coral reef beach and watching the sunset sink into the sea makes this a romantic and private dating spot in Kenting. Additionally, Houbi is close to the National Museum of Marine Biology and Aquarium, Guanyin Rock, Turtle Mountain, and Fu’an Temple in Checheng, making it a great destination for families to create wonderful memories together.

If you want to embrace the passionate sunshine and seawater of southern Taiwan, be sure to experience the joy of non-motorized paddling and feel the cool breeze on your face. The Kenting National Park Headquarters will collaborate with the Houbi Community Development Association on May 14, 2017, to host the "Relaxing on the Sea" event. A professional team from the Houbi community will guide visitors in canoeing and beach cleanups, while listening to the tides, currents, and sunset tell the beauty of the sea.

Event time: 2:00 PM to 5:30 PM on May 14, 2017.
Target participants: Students aged 12 and above (must be accompanied by a parent) and general public
