United KingdomAfter the Brexit decision was passed, the authorities have not officially announced details about the passport replacement. However, designers have been eager to unleash their creativity. The foreign design media outlet Dezeen was the first to launch an “unofficial” passport design competition.

The event received an enthusiastic response, collecting over 200 entries from 34 countries, with designs featuring various meanings and styles. The youngest participant was just 12 years old, while the oldest was 83. The winner even received a cash prize of £1,000.

After careful selection by Dezeen editors, Scottish designer Ian Macfarlan was ultimately chosen as the champion. His design is simple yet thoughtful, cleverly blending the EU-representing burgundy withthe United Kingdom’s deep blue passport, leaving a lasting impression.

There were also eight other entries that received praise—so which one do you like best?

4. Circles represent cultural inclusiveness and acceptance of different ethnicities.

7. A design resembling a hipster notebook, submitted by a Norwegian student, uses gray, blue, and white to depict theUnited Kingdom’s foggy and rainy weather.

8. A sky-blue glossy cover with a strap makes it convenient for travelers to carry their passports.

9. A humorous cover where “FUK” stands for “Full United Kingdom,” using a swear-word homophone to satirizethe United Kingdom’s Brexit.
