Water Lanterns Shine Bright: Japan’s Bamboo Lantern Festival!
Did you play with lanterns during this year's Mid-Autumn Festival?InofKagoshimaPrefecture, there’s a special place called Izumi City that hosts an extraordinary bamboo lantern festival!
The soft glow of 0? light illuminates the cityscape with thousands of delicate lanterns, creating a magical atmosphere. This year marks the third edition, and it has already made history—over 600 local volunteers came together to craft a total of 55,434 bamboo lanterns, matching the city’s population and setting a new world record!
This year’s event will take place from October 28 to November 11. In addition to stunning bamboo lantern displays across Izumi City, there will also be mini concerts and other activities. Locals will even form teams to compete in lantern-making contests. Although visitors may not be able to join the crafting, witnessing such a spectacular event is sure to be a delightful experience!
