There can never be too many of them — Taipei adds 4 new YouBike stations and 128 new bikes

The bike-sharing trend in Taipei is growing stronger. Starting today (the 6th), the Taipei City Department of Transportation has added 4 new YouBike stations, including the Civic Activity Center, the intersection of Keelung Road and Guangfu Road, Taipei Metro Xinyi Anhe Station, and Taipei Metro Taipei 101 World Trade Center Station. In total, there are now 74 stations and 2,516 “little yellows” across Taipei, all ready to serve residents and visitors.

Among the 4 new stations, the Civic Activity Center is located at the Sanyi Road Roundabout and houses multiple service facilities such as a library and a fitness center. It is also conveniently close to nearby residential areas. The Keelung Guangfu Road intersection station is near the Linjiang Street (Tonghua Street) Night Market. The Taipei Metro Xinyi Anhe Station and Taipei Metro Taipei 101 World Trade Center Station were built in conjunction with the Xinyi Line project and will serve commuters using the Xinyi Line in the future.

Following previous successes of people riding YouBikes all the way to Wuling, the system has gained even more fame and users. The Department of Transportation stated that besides adding 4 new stations, 128 new bikes have also been introduced. The new stations include 16 docking poles at the Civic Activity Center, 15 at the Keelung Guangfu Road Station, 15 at Taipei Metro Xinyi Anhe Station, and 27 at Taipei Metro Taipei 101 World Trade Center Station.

The Department of Transportation said that if the public has any questions or suggestions regarding YouBike, they can call (02) 8978-5084 directly or dial the Taipei Citizen Hotline 1999 and transfer to the YouBike Service Center. They may also visitthe YouBike website.
